The Nike Kobe 8 System basketball shoe is designed to fit like an extension of Kobe’s foot for a quick first step. Engineered mesh upper provides a dynamic, ultra-lightweight fit that moves with the foot and offers 360º of breathability. Phylon™ midsole delivers lightweight comfort and stability. Full-length Lunarlon midsole insert adds lightweight cushioning that sits lower internally to offer better stability. One-millimeter rubber outsole combines a classic herringbone pattern with a snake scale-inspired traction pattern. Less rubber than traditional outsoles for lightweight durability and excellent multi-surface traction. 3-D anatomical heel counter provides a sleek, locked down fit. Low Suggested for point guard, shooting guard, and forward. Wt. 9.6 oz.

The Nike Kobe 8 is one of the best guard shoes ever made. The traction allows you to stop on a dime; the outsole is made of very pliable rubber, although it is grippy on indoor courts I would not recommend it for hooping outdoors. The shoe is very flexible, it allows you to stay on your feet without being unstable. The full length Lunarlon insole is like walking on clouds. However, the toe area wears down very quickly. The engineered mesh upper provides you with a glove-like fit and amazing support. Note: these do run narrow, if you have wide feet order a half size up. Lockdown in this shoes is amazing; there are little cushion pillows in the tongue that allow you to tighten the laces up all of the way without pinching your feet. There is a plastic heel clip that has most of the support along with the midfoot shank that gives the shoe rigidity My only complaint about the tongue is that it tends to slip to the side while you play. Although the entire upper is made of engineered mesh it is not extremely ventilated, most of the ventilation is on the inside of your foot. In conclusion this is easily one of the best Kobe's to date; this the best guard shoes available from Nike as of now.
Pros: breaks in easy, lightweight, doesn't crease, cool colors, durable, good traction, comfortable, stays clean a long time
Cons: poor ankle support, runs narrow

I purchased this shoe at a Foot Locker in a size 9, I found it to be too narrow. The shoes required little break in time. The traction on the Hyperdunks is unbelievable, it worked on side cuts, rolling off of screen, and best on jump stops. The cushion on the shoe is average, mainly because front feels like it has almost no cushion. The shoe was little rubber dots that really make a difference in the shoes lockdown, you can really notice that there is no slipage. The material is good, there is good breathability.
Pros: breaks in easy, lightweight, durable, good ankle support, breathable, good traction, comfortable
Cons: creases easily

The adidas Rose 3.0 basketball shoe is inspired by Derrick’s humble roots and exciting play. The Rose logo features three petals that revolve around a subtle letter "D" and number "1" in the center. The petal’s sharp edges represent his speed and agility on the court and each one is unique to pay homage to the creative cuts, slashes and shots he makes on the court. The petals also symbolize the foundation that brought Derrick from the playgrounds of Englewood to NBA superstardom - his mother, Brenda, in the center, and his brothers Allen, Reggie and Duane as support. Just as sharp, crafted and lethal as D-Rose's game, these shoes are what separates an MVP from the others. Synthetic leather upper provides optimal light weight and durability and incorporates a unique Sting Ray emboss pattern tying back to the stingray leather used on real katana swords; the preferred weapon of the legendary Samurai warrior. SPRINTFRAME construction provides stability and speed through geometrical research to create a lightweight and supportive basketball chassis. Breathable sandwich mesh tongue incorporates a 3M reflective Black Rose logo while the back details the Rose Family tree with a Chicago word mark. Molded EVA collar adds increased ankle lock down. High rebounding injected EVA midsole offers longer resiliency and response over time. More EVA through the midfoot delivers stronger torsional and midfoot stiffness for side-to-side cuts. PU sockliner brings added cushion and breathability. Non-marking rubber outsole with increased ground contact and enhanced traction gives ultimate grip. miCoach compatible. Wt. 12.6 oz.

I got this shoe at a Foot Locker store in a size 9.5, the shoes was a litte bad at first because the sides were a little tight, and the traction was poor. After a LOT more break in time, the shoes was just amazing, somehow the traction broke in along with the material( black leather) . The cushion was amazing, I liked the insole that came with the shoes. The materials are very good, though I belive it could have been made a little bit more breathable. Overall the shoe was great though the break in time was a little too long.
Pros: cool colors, good ankle support, good traction, comfortable, stays clean a long time
Cons: creases easily, does not break in quickly

The red color way

Does the Port Wine/Pure Platinum/Team Red/Crimson colorway have the XDR outsole, if so will there be a non XDR outsole edition?

Will Adidas come out with more colors for this shoe?

The colors are cool, but I want to wait and see if there will be more colors before I may buy them.
